Hello, My name is Katrin.
I’m 21, and i’m from Austria. I came to London 2 Years ago as an au-pair. It is was the same time when I started skating.I’m still an au-pair and I still skate.
There is no particullar reason why I started skating. I bought skates, very cheap but beautiful ones and went to Hyde Park. By pur chance I joined the Sundaystroll- did not know what it was about, didn’t even speak the language but I could keep up and met very friendly people. After several Sundaystrolls I was a brave enough to do the Nightskates. It was a great way to see London and to meet new people from the whole world, which are now my best friends.
Months later I bought Salomon Deemax3, I still wear them, they are very confortable and I wouldn’t want to change.
Last year I started marshaling the streetskates and I really love it.
I also try to learn slalom moves from our profies on Serpentineroad but I prefer streetskating.
Of course there is one or some more falls but with pads and helmet I’ll survive everthing.
