James

Name: James (Doc)

Occupation: Trainee Accountant

Skates: K2 Soul 7 and Salomon Deemax 2

Best move?: I don’t believe I have one – does the ability to not
fall over despite being generally incompetent count? (mind you –that’’s just ‘cos I’m bloody minded)

About me? Well, I’m a doctor, but not of the useful variety, and I currently spend a lot of my time either revising for my ACA exams or attempting to do DIY (very badly) on my new flat which I’ve bought with my fiancée, Louise. As a result I don’t get down to the park much or go skating that much either at the moment. I started skating because of Louise, who is now a ICP Level 2 instructor for a well-known skate school, and initially used to go on quite a few WNS’s and FNS’s; whereas now we generally go once or twice a year (usually the Halloween skate as Louise loves to dress up). We also sometimes go the skatepark at Westbourne Grove on Monday’s, which is a good laugh and quite a steep learning curve! Why do I still skate? Probably for the look of abject terror on pedestrians’ faces as I whiz past them! In all seriousness though – for me skating is just one of those things that’s fun to do, and the London scene being so sociable helps!
